SPECIAL SENSES Special senses or special sensations are the complex sensations which involve specialized sense organs. These sensations are different from somatic sensations that arise from skin, muscles, tendons and joints Special senses are; Sensation of vision  Sensation of hearing  Sensation of taste Sensation of smell. FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY OF THE EYEBALL Human eyeball (bulbus oculi) is approximately globe shaped, with a diameter of about 24 mm.
